Cultivating Change Talk using MI Wilmington, NC

Motivational Interviewing (MI)- a way of working with an individual to help them come up with own arguments for change. MI has been found to be useful in the practice of substance use treatment, supported employment, wellness and recovery services and in psychiatric rehabilitation. A key to affecting behavior change is to emphasize the client’s own change talk. This workshop will take participants through the ways MI can help the practitioner cultivate change talk, learning how to recognize, amplify and reflect more change talk. Workshop have several experiential exercises. Appropriate for persons who have had Introductory Motivational Interviewing.NBCC Credit (CEUs) provided.
