IPS team members collaborate with counselors from Employment and Independence for People with Disabilities (EIPD, formerly Vocational Rehabilitation) to help individuals achieve good employment outcomes. The combined resources and expertise of both types of service providers benefit individuals receiving services.
Regularly scheduled monthly meetings provide opportunities to celebrate successes and generate solutions to help people achieve their employment and education goals. IPS team members and EIPD counselors frequently contact each other between meetings to provide updates, discuss emerging needs, and share resources.
The North Carolina Collaborative for Ongoing Recovery through Employment (NC CORE) utilizes the IPS model through a Value-Based Contracting Milestone payment methodology. IPS providers connect eligible members of their caseload to EIPD to facilitate sequential service delivery and funding. The Tailored Plan funds the initial and long-term phases of the service, and EIPD funds job development, job placement, and early job support.
